The Boston Cooking-School Cookbook~1924

One of our most cherished mementos is this cookbook, 'The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book'.
The first copyright date is 1896.

The book was given to me by my aunt, but it was originally my great grandmother's. It is filled with her handwritten recipes, as well.
It contains the recipe for 'Mahogany Cake', my grandfather's favorite. He was an only child...who had 12 children of his own...the oldest boy, my dad.
The book has recipes that include directions such as 'bake in a moderate oven' without any times given. And these...
The hidden sisters would love to spend an afternoon having tea...
Or have good coffee after dinner...
We'd *love* to have a 'Chocolate Service'....
It also has wonderful advertisements in the back...
Do you have any recipes or cookbooks that are dear to you?
